Network Engineer
is responsible for implementing application systems to support the banks business goals while striving for the highest quality. We aim to provide extensive system support by delivering reliable application solutions. We are looking for a dedicated Network Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity and performance for our core banking system. Additionally, you will be required to align and develop Infrastructure architecture, assess business requirements, and oversee Infrastructure projects in line with IT Enterprise Architecture.
Your role & responsibilities
General Duties
1) General
Administer and maintain the banks network infrastructure.
Troubleshoot network issues and provide technical support to end-users.
Document network configurations and support resolutions.
2) Network Management
Design, implement, and maintain network solutions, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
Monitor and optimize network performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve network-related challenges.
3) Infrastructure Architecture
Develop and align Infrastructure architecture in accordance with IT solution.
Assess requirements, design, and develop new IT Infrastructure to support business requirements.
Upgrade and manage the IT Infrastructure of the Bank.
Manage Infrastructure projects within budgets, timelines, and with required effectiveness and efficiency.
4) Administrative and Compliance
Oversee IT vendor management, including Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Ensure all IT services and renewals are completed on time.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, external and internal audits, and security/regulatory certifications.
In conjunction with IT Security, develop and implement a comprehensive IT Security Policy.
5) Additional Responsibilities:
Provide key inputs to IT Controller and other Senior IT Management personnel on IT issues and Infrastructure in the banking industry.
Assess training requirements of the IT personnel and ensure adequate and relevant training is provided to them.
Develop Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan.
Be a part of IT committee meetings and advise Top Management on IT Projects and Strategy.
Demonstrate leadership skills to lead the team and ensure desired performance is delivered by the team.
Undertake any other responsibility as and when assigned by the competent authority of the bank from time to time.
Your skills & qualifications
Technical Requirements
Proficiency in network administration, including the configuration and management of routers, switches, and firewalls.
Experience with network troubleshooting and support.
Knowledge of the relevant technology stack components for network management, including but not limited to: Cisco routers and switches, Fortinet firewalls, VPN technologies.
Network monitoring and management tools such as Nagios or SolarWinds.
Familiarity with VLANs, subnetting, and IP routing.
Strong understanding of network security practices and protocols.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver high-quality network support.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Network Administrator, with expertise in managing and maintaining network infrastructure, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.
Proficiency in the relevant technology stack components.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to assist end-users effectively.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality network support.
Knowledge of IT security best practices.
A proactive and positive attitude, with a willingness to adapt to new network technologies and processes.
Ability to analyze and solve issues quickly and efficiently.
